City" News Blog:
"Dangerous Curves
Come to Gallery Provocateur for an opening of their latest exhibition which features erotic and fantasy visionaries. One of the exhibiting artists, Daniel Kiessler, will be flying in from Germany to attend the opening and do a book signing. His work includes pieces highlighting the erotic elements of both straights and queers. Gallery Provocateur is an "avant-garde gallery that presents provoking art in an innovative ambiance. The intimate setting and tantalizing art stimulates all the senses." |

Gallery Provocateur is
proud to announce its collaboration with Heavy Metal Magazine. Press release by Heavy Metal: "We are delighted to bring two new faces to our Artists Arena. Christopher Shy and Ken Keirns are both represented by Gallery Provocateur which was founded by long time friend of Heavy Metal – Veronika Kotlajic. Opening its doors in 2008, Gallery Provocateur is the newborn non-profit gallery for Veronika who was formerly co-founder and curator of Echo Gallery in Chicago. Veronika has been a trailblazer in the art community for over a decade and has amassed numerous accomplishments including: head of the couture house Narcisse Designs; dozens of magazine features and a published Heavy Metal book, The Muse, of her artistic modeling. Christopher Shy occasionally goes by the pen name “Ronin” and is probably best know for his cover work on White Wolfs Vampire and Mage lines as well as his work on the Freedom computer game. Recently, Studio Ronin and Christopher Shy completed work on the graphic novel Pathfinder, released by Dark Horse Comics, which was made into a film directed by Marcus Nispel. In our Artists Arena he is presenting recent works thematically held together by Decay and entitled Exceptions to Life. At first glance Ken Keirns' works could be described as an adolescent's fantasy realized. But they are more.... much, much more. His visions are playful, humorous glimpses into the bizarre and mysterious everyday happenings so many of us miss. Kens work has appeared on countless products, advertisements, and billboards. From the largest radio stations in Chicago and L.A. to top pop culture energy drinks, they have all used his poignantly skewed perspective to tickle your eye and stir your soul." |
