The Multimedia Art of Donald White

Born August 23, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. Attended the Maryland Institute College of Art from 1977--1981. Majored in lithography and silkscreen. Involved in local art scene including performance art, poetry reading, underground movies, and member of punk band “Da Moronics”.
 

Major influences include Frazetta, Petty, Vargas , Helmut Newton and Betty Page (may she rest in peace).


 

Moved to Los Angeles in 1983, and worked for fashion designer Michele Lamy. Illustrated for various magazines and started his own photography studio.  Art director and cast member for several underground movie and music videos and continued involvement in performance art.
 

Returned to Baltimore in 1989, began working as scenic painter on major motion pictures including: 

Avalon, He Said She Said, That Night, Guarding Tess, Homicide (the series and film), Hudsucker Proxy and Meoter Man.
 

Restored churches and painted murals with renowned restoration company Octavec & Son, of Baltimore and

worked as Art Director for Nick’s Inner Harbor Seafood, in Baltimore’s Federal Hill area, designing seafood displays which earned rave reviews in local newspapers.
